DESCRIPTION:Want to know what’s in a beehive besides honey?\n\n\n\nCome see Reyah Carlson speak about apitherapy and the products from a hive. \nReyah is a nationally and internationally recognized apitherapist and a member of the American Apitherapy Society. \n\n\n\n\n\nWhen:  Saturday\, August 17\, 2024 from 1-3pm    (Doors   open at 12:30pm)\n\nWhere:  The American Legion in 39 Main St.  Ashland\, NH \nSponsor:  Pemi-Baker Beekeepers’ Association \nCost:  No charge\, donations accepted \n  \n\nReyah will be bringing her therapy bees and supplies and will give you the opportunity to try some bee stings for what ails you.\nShe will also have some supplies and products of the hive for purchase.\n\n  \nReyah says:\nThere is nothing new about apitherapy; the healing properties of the hive have been demonstrated time and time again since the beginning of beekeeping. There are documents in China dating well over 2000 years regarding sting therapy\, and the healing benefits from other honey bee made products. Hippocrates himself utilized live and dried honeybees in his practice referring to the venom as a ‘strange and mysterious medicine.’ After all\, how could something that caused such initial pain\, relieve pain? Something that causes initial inflammation\, be anti-inflammatory? Indeed! \n“Honeybees and their perfect society\, are very mysterious\, which I am sure is what keeps me focused on these marvelous creatures\, and the medicine chest that offers something for everybody\, known as ‘The Beehive’. Conditions and diseases from A to Z can be helped and improved through the use of something in that beehive. I see this on a daily basis\, having given stings to over 2000 people from around the world\, and to date having received over 25\,000 stings myself. For now\, BEE healthy\, BEE happy.”

DESCRIPTION:New Hampshire Beekeepers Association (NHBA) is seeking 30 volunteers to volunteer for (2) hour time slots at their booth at The Farm and Forest Expo.  The Expo runs May 3rd 9am to 7pm and May 4th 9am to 4pm at the Deerfield Fair Grounds.  No experience necessary\, brand new beekeepers are welcomed. \nThis is a great opportunity to hang out with fellow beekeepers and talk with Expo attendees about beekeeping.  There will be an observation hive and kids (and adults) love to watch the bees and try to find the (marked) queen.  NHBA provides some giveaways such as stickers for finding the queen and informational brochures\, etc. \nAs a booth volunteer you will be granted complimentary entrance to the Expo and can spend time wandering before or after your shift at the booth! \nIf interested you can text Cecile at 603-494-7510 with your name\, club affiliation and availability. \nThanks!
